Who is Warrant?

Warrant is one of Iron Fist's first enemies.  He has only appeared as an Iron Fist villain.

Alias(es): Warrant

Real name: Kevin Leary

First Appearance: Marvel Comics Presents #127

Affiliations: AIM

Note: There is another Warrant that does look similar to this Warrant that appeared in Web of Spider-Man.  That Warrant is different and can be told apart because he is fully technological cyborg looking.  Both have a missing eye and long black hair.  The Spider-Man villain Warrant is named Grey Garrison and appears in Web of Comics #110.

Bio:



Warrant's origins are unknown but at some point he came into various gadgets from the Tinkerer including large blaster guns and the evil eye that emits a paralysis beam.  He uses these weapons as a mercenary and a bounty hunter.

AIM (Advanced Idea Mechanics) hires Warrant to go after Iron Fist to retrieve a powerful item known as the Anomaly.  Warrant ambushes Iron Fist by blasting him with a large energy gun and then paralyzing the hero with the evil eye.   While Iron Fist is paralyzed Warrant prepares to finish him off with a large blaster.  Iron Fist is saved at the list second by Lillian Hsu who hits Warrant over the head with a trash can.  She then throws a tire over his body which blocks the Evil Eye and paralyzes Iron Fist.  Iron Fist quickly kicks the blaster out of Warrant's hands beat him unconscious.

Powers and Skills:
Warrant is a mercenary and bounty hunter with some martial and military training.  His powers seem to come from gadgets.

Evil Eye - Paralyzes opponents.

He also sports a large array of energy gun weapons.

Warrants face appears to be half decayed no reason for this is given however it could be part of a power not shown.

MCU:
There is no sign or mention of Warrant in the MCU as of yet.

Just one week after Marvel lost one of its most long tenured writers in Brian Michael Bendis the company has announced that they are making a change in Editor of Chief.  Axel Alonso who has been editor of chief of the company since 2011 and has been at Marvel for the past 15 years is leaving the company.  Alonso will be replaced by VP of International Business Development C.B. Cebulski.

Alonso initially started at DC editing books for the Vertigo line including Preacher, 100 Bullets and Transmetropolian before being brought over to Marvel as an editor.  Alonso did work with J Michael Strazinskies Spider-Man and also edited through the controversial One More Day Storyline.  Alonso was promoted to Editor in Chief after Joe Quesada was elevated in 2011 to Chief Creative Officer.

Notable achievements of Alonso include elevating writers Jason Aaron, Wilow Wilson.  Over seeing the storyline where Miles Morales became the main Spider-Man of the Ultimate Universe and the creation of Kamala Khan.  He also oversaw the creation of the new Ghost Rider in Robbie Reyes.

Major events during Alonso's tenure included Fear Itself, X-Men vs Avengers, Death of Wolverine, and Original Sin, and Secret Empire.

Marvel made headlines under Alonso for various pushes of diverse characters.  In one year Alonso over saw the change of Thor, Steve Rogers Captain America, and Hulk's Bruce Banner to be replaced with different characters who were all non white males in Jane Foster, Sam Alexander, and Amadeus Cho.  Miles Morales and Kamala Khan also become main stream heroes often headlining their own series.

While much of Alonso's career saw Marvel topping the charts in sales, the last year have been trying seeing Marvel dip in sales and also a widely panned and divisive event in Secret Empire.  While Marvel has politely thanked both Bendis and Alonso for their contributions to the company it is rumored that the company is seeking to find a new direction.

That new direction is expected to come from CB Cebulski.  Cebulski has been helping Marvel engage readers in Asia and is said to have a strong manga influence.  How his tenure will differ from his predessor is hard to know at this point in time.

Who are the Sakaarans

The Sakaarans were introduced during the storyline Planet Hulk.  Hulk is shot out into space by a group of Earth heroes cslling themselves the Illuminati because they fear that there is no way to stop him if he goes on a rampage.  He lands on the planet Sakaar.  There he is faced with a fairly primitive but powerful people.  

Location:  

Planet:  Sakaar

Star System: Tayo 

Galaxy: Fornax

Races: 

Sakaarans include multiple races.  Primarily there are the Imperials, Shadow People, and The Natives

Imperials- Sakaaran Imperials dominate the government and form up the bulk of the empire cities or as farmers in the countryside.

Shadow People – Have grey skin.  Their race once crisscrossed the galaxy but the Old Power a force they depended upon had grown unstable.  They seeded the galaxy with their race trying to undue the damage the Old Power had done.  They now have Priests that can channel the old power making themselves super strong and durable.  Most shadow people live in villages outside of the major cities.

Natives- Primitive, buglike, humanoids

Government:  Monarchy Imperialistic – Sakaar is controlled by an Empire whose Imperialistic force stretches across the planet.  The Emperor has the title Sakaarson and rules with absolute power.

Emperors:

Red King

Father Emperor – Angmo – Original Leader who united the world under the empire. Was born with a trait called the Imperial Prime that gave him vast power.

Red King- Angmo-Asan – Spoiled son of Angmo who lacked his Imperial Prime.  The original Angmo attempted to have him killed when he was child but the Assassin Hiroim the Shamed refused to kill a child.  Eventually took control of the Empire.  Built himself a power suit that made him powerful like his father.  Brutalized the populace but manipulated the stories to make himself seem like a hero.  Eventually, he is beaten by the Hulk in the Arena and loses control of the planet.  He managed to survive though is now more machine than flesh.

The Hulk- Takes control of the planet after being stranded there.  Eventually, leads a war party of Sakaarans to Earth to take revenge on the Illumati for sending him there and for blowing up the shuttle that killed his Sakaaran family.

Culture:

The culture of the Sakaarans is similar to the ancient Romans.  They are fond of arena gladiatorial combat.

Technology:
The Sakaaran's themselves do not have advanced technology.  However, there is a portal on their planet that spits out advanced wrecked space ships.  They salvage out advanced forms of technology and integrate it into their society.

Movie:
Sakaaran Soldiers will make up the bulk of Thanos's forces in the upcoming movie the Guardians of the Galaxy

Coding Caterpillar or Code-A-Pillar by Fisher Price is Toylab's Top Christmas Toy of 2016

Fisher Price has a new toy that is geared toward toddlers.  It is on its face a really simple robot but if you look closely it offers a great deal of depth.   It is a toy that will delight toddlers, but may also be used by older kids and even adults.  When a toy can intrigue all people it has the possibility of being much more that it was initially intended.
I have seen highschool teams work with robotics doing similar tasks that are now being done by 4 year olds with the Code-A-Pillar.  The high school robots were just harder to use and figure out.  This robot is elegantly, simple and it is that simplicity that makes it a thing of beauty.


How does Code-A-Pillar work?

The Code-A-Pillar is a toy that is broken up into segmented pieces that click together.  Each piece is snapped into each other easily through an attached USB connection.  Each segment has a symbol on it showing an action like Turn Left, Go Forward, Make Noise.  When the Code-A-Pillar is turned on it lights up happily and then runs through the sequence of actions laid out in the segments of the Code-A-Pillar.  Kids can begin playing and experimenting with the sequence of the segments to make the toy do different things or at least in a different sequence.

By putting the segments in different sequences the kids can begin undertaking little challenges like making the Code-A-Pillar cross a mapped out path, or go around obstacles.  When kids master this there is a App that can add additional tasks and options.
There will also be expansion packs that will have all kinds of new things for the Code-A-Pillar to do.










What makes it really awesome is what it teaches - CODING
The secret sauce of this toy is that it teaches CODING!
One of the missions of Toylab is to help people from all walks of life how to code or do basic programming.  The reasons for this are legion.  Understanding how computer code works unlocks doors in every industry today.  It is very empowering to program a machine to do something very
 efficiently and save you time.  While coding is something that is nice to have for my generation, it is going to be seen as an outright requirement for future generations.


The American Education in Coding is woefully unprepared for the future.


This may sound crazy but if I had my way, kids would be spending an equal amount of time learning programming as they spend on Science, English and Math.  It should be treated like a new core class.  Schools however are not treating it that way.  Kids are very lucky if they get 2 classes that cover basic computer skills and often one of those is simply keyboarding.  This does nothing to teach a kid programming, 3d Modeling, Website Design, 3d Printing or the myriad of other computer technologies.  If you want your kids to learn coding you need to be the one to introduce it to them.  The Code-A-Pillar is a great first step in this direction.

The best part of Code-A-Pillar is that your kids will begin learning a very USEFUL skill but do it while playing and having fun.   The Code-A-Pillar is also such a great toy that they are going to want to play with it, and explore how to use it.  Further there are ways by using crafts, additional segment parts to increase the amount of exploration they can do with this toy.

I Love this toy!  It is a beautiful design and a revolutionary simple idea made fun.






Positives:

• Easy to use and figure out
• Teaches Coding
• Parts are easily handled by a Toddler
• Parts stay together and don't fall out easily
• Putting pieces together is pretty easily
• $50 Dollars is approximate starting set price and seems very reasonable

Downsides
I love this toy but there are some things to think about to take into account.

• The Code-A-Pillar makes a lot of noise which can drive parents nuts.  I do not see an option to turn the volume off.
• It does best on a flat hard surface (Tile or Hardwood floors are the best).  It can work on thin carpet but a thicker carpet it will often get stuck.
• It does better when you have a descent amount of space.  If you don't have a lot of space it could be a struggle for you child to use it.

Who is Fat Cobra?




Fat Cobra is one of the greatest Kung Fu masters in the world called Immortal Weapons. The Immortal Weapons meet and battle each other in tournament with each being a champion of one of the 7 Cities of Heaven.  He does not age due to use of Chi manipulation and has many adventures over the years both as a hero and sometimes enemy.  The character is generally associated with the hero Iron Fist but has also appeared alongside Wolverine.  Fat Cobra is a relatively new character being introduced in the Immortal Iron Fist series in 2007 but has quickly become a fan favorite.

Fun Fact: Fat Cobra is very old with great longevity due to his Chi manipulation.  He has done many famous things throughout history including teaching Elvis Kung Fu and battling Ninja Nazis in WWII.

Bio:


Fat Cobra is a heavy set martial artist who is around 110 years old.  Due to being one of the Immortal Weapons the group champions who each represent one of the 7 cities of heaven he does not age.  This keeps Fat Cobra in his prime.  Despite being heavy set he is very quick and powerful.  He uses the contrast of opponents expectations to quickly take them out with fast and brutal strikes.


Fat Cobra was born to a poor family on Peng Lai Island.  Peng Lai is one of the 7 Capital Cities of Heaven that is tied heavily into the Kung Fu Tournament of the Immortal Weapons.  Fat Cobra's mother died giving birth to him, his father a poor pig farmer was unable to afford to feed and so left him at an orphanage.  The young orphan was said to have such a prodigious appetite that he was too much of a burden to the orphanage.  At the young age of 2 he was exiled from Peng Lai.

He was found and raised in the Peking Opera school that trained him in music, acrobatics and martial arts.  He developed a reputation as being one of the best opera singers in China and toured the country with the Peking Opera.   While a gifted singer he would soon learn that he had more talent in the area of fighting.  He ended a drunken brawl in a coffee house in Cairo by punching a man through a wall, killing him.  Now branded a murderer he fled back to China to avoid justice from the Cairo authorities.

In China he found his homeland in the midst of a civil war.  He fought on both sides and was a highly sought after fighting talent.  Taking money earned during the war he bought his way back into Peng Lai.  In Peng Lai he began training in Kung Fu beneath the infamous master Iron Crutch Khan.  Iron Crutch Khan gives his new pupil the moniker of Fat Cobra and the name stuck.  Fat Cobra's natural fighting ability are beyond that of anyone Iron Crutch Khan has seen.  He gives Fat Cobra the goal of defeating the serpent Xiang Yao and becoming an Immortal Weapon.

Fat Cobra challenges Xiang Yao but is soundly and brutally beaten.  He washes up on shore barely alive, beaten up, and partially eaten.  An old woman find him, nurses him back to health but also takes sexual advantage of him during periods of where he is comatose.  After making a full recovery he learns he was exiled again from Peng Lai.

He joins forces with the adventurer Ulyesses Bloodstone and goes to the Savage Land, Monster Island and battles the dragon Fing Fang Foom.  He is sent in WWII by the hero Union Jack to take down a group of Ninja Nazis led by Herr Samurai.  The entire Kung Fu team he is with is killed off except for him.  He if offered a spot on a fighting squad with Toro and Bucky but turns down the offer having grown tired of war.  He takes up a cush fighting trainer spot at an all girls school in Switzerland instead where he rides out the war.



Fat Cobra's colorful life continues landing in a variety of interesting places over the years.
He later went to Hollywood and landed some roles including Ma and Pa Skillet dig to Chinee Town and Driskel and Chowder meet the Evil Dr Celestial.  He played for NYC Giants NFL team before being kicked out for baddly wounding KKK protesters.  Fat Cobra is brought to Olympus for an eating contest along with Hercules and the Asgardian Volstagg.  He is also the martial artist who trained Elvis in the ways of Kung Fu.

Eventaully, SHIELD brings in Fat Cobra as an asset used against the Russians in the Cold War.  Here he served with Nick Fury and battled Russian Were Wolves on the Moon.  Fat Cobra once again tries to battle Xiang Yao but this time is even more severely beaten.  He is found legless and paralyzed but is nursed back to health in a SHIELD medical facility.

Around this time Fat Cobra's children whom he apparently has had hundreds of begin to hunt him down and attempt to kill him for being a dead beat dad.  His children are each gifted in martial arts like himself and he kills them off in hand to hand combat one at a time.  This gives him the necessary experience to battle the Xiang Yao who he battles and defeats on his third attempt finally making him into an Immortal Weapon and the champion of Peng Lai.

Immortal Weapons Saga
The tournament of the seven cities begins with Fat Cobra defeating 100 Shaolin Terror Priests by himself.  This earns him the right to select his opponent.  He selects Iron Fist which surprises everyone because Iron Fist is considered one of the top contenders for the overall tournament.  Fat Cobra wants to establish a precedent with himself as the top fighter by going right after the best.
The Tournament is interrupted by Hydra who attacks the seven cities.  The Seven Immortal weapons easily fight off the attack.

He helps Iron Fist in his battles again Chi'n Lin and Ching Ming in the Eighth Heavenly City. The champions are all captured and are forced to take part in gladiatorial battles in the Eighth City.  Eventually, the champions are freed by Qaun Yaozu the Tiger's Beautiful Daughter.  The Champion fight their way out of the Eighth City.

Wolverine:
Fat Cobra aids Gorilla man and Wolverine escape and defeat the Jade Claw.  In the end of the series he goes into San Franscio and takes the underworld title of Black Dragon.


 Powers and Skills:

As one of the Immortal Weapons Fat Cobra is considered to be one of the top martial artists who have ever lived.  He has master numerous styles and has altered many of them into his own style that uses his unique body type to his advantage.  Even without Chi powers Fat Cobra was strong enough to kill men with single blows.  His natural athletic speed is also very high he is to be able to move at 35 miles per hour without the use of Chi.

Chi Powers-  
Through the use of Chi powers Fat Cobra can generate internal energy called Chi for various effects.

• Enhanced Speed / Strength - Fast enough to catch a bullet
• Enhanced Healing
• Immortality / Slowed Aging
• Mystical Insight and Foresight
• Can use Chi to greatly enhance the power of a strike to deliver a super human blow
• Energy Blasts - Takes the form of lighting and can be used with a strike or separately
• Durability - Can create a Chi Shield or Aura that protects his body from harm
• Energy Tracking - Can sense energy sources and track them.

Weaknesses: 
Fat Cobra has the least patience and most gluttonous attitude of all the Immortal Weapons.  He is the least able to wait and often partakes too much in food, drink and women.  His ability to turn down food, drink and women is almost non existent.  Due to treating his body and mind badly over his life he has developed a poor memory and often does not remember major details of his life.


MCU:


There is no sign yet of Fat Cobra in the MCU.  It is possible he could appear or be mentioned in the upcoming Netflix series Iron Fist.

The character Madame Gao in Daredevil Seasons I and II seems likely to be the MCU's version of Crane Mother a Seven Cities villain.  This has led some to believe that a tournament of the Seven Cities could be featured at a later date that would introduce the seven Immortal Weapons.

Who is the Kingpin?

The Kingpin's real name is Wilson Fisk and he is the crimelord of crimelords.  He is the mastermind and power broker behind much of the crime in New York City.  He is often depicted as being physically massive and is able to go toe to toe with superheroes such as Spiderman and Daredevil. 

Bio:
Wilson Fisk is poor,fat, New York kid who is taunted for obesity and incessantly bullied.  The bullying drives Fisk to train in martial arts particularly in the art of sumo wrestling.   Fisk begins to beat up and brutalize the bullies that once preyed on him.   He is completely ruthless and megalomaniacal and turns the neighborhood bullies into his own personal soldiers and into a gang.

The local Don of crime named Rigoletto notices the skills of the young Wilson Fisk and makes him into his body guard and right hand man.  Fisk becomes one of Rigoletto's most feared enforcers.  Having gained the respect of of the criminal underworld Fisk kills Rigoletto and takes control of his crime syndicate.

Fisk's initial rise may have been a little too fast.  The Maggia crime syndicate attacks him and forces him to flee NY.  Fisk moves to Japan, opens up a spice business gains wealth and power.  While, he appears to have gone legitamate he actually is plotting the overthrow of the Maggia.  The Maggia becomes embroiled in a variety of internal and external wars all of which were instigated by Fisk.  Fisk then moves and overthrows the Maggia.  He consolidates the powers of all the criminal organizations of NY and declares himself the Kingpin of crime.

Fisk then becomes a constant villain in the stories of Spiderman, Daredevil, and even the Avengers.

Interesting Facts on the Kingpin:
The Kingpin is ranked 10th on IGNs top villains of all time.

He began as a Spiderman Villain but evolved into being the arch nemesis of Daredevil.

As a Spiderman villain he used a variety of hi tech gadets and gizmos like a cane that fired a laser beam.  When he became more of a Daredevil villain he dropped the trinkets and became more a street, hand to hand, style criminal.

One of Fisk's weapons his is obese looking appearance that causes others to underestimate his speed and vitality.  Most of his girth is actually muscle.

Fisk once beat Spiderman in hand to hand combat.  Spiderman was saved by the intervention of Fisk's wife.  This is partially due to Spiderman's tendency not to go full on against non superpowered foes.  When Spiderman was given reason to go full out on Kingpin, he quickly took him down.

Powers and Skills:

They did not stand a chance

Kingpin has no actual superpowers but he is abnormally large, strong and fast.  He is also a very skilled hand to hand fighter and has been shown mowing down a dojo of armed black belt fighters in seconds.

He is also a strategic mastermind, and skilled street criminal.




Marvel Cinematic Universe:

The Kingpin was a character in the Daredevil movie and played by Micheal Clark Duncan.

In the Marvel Netflix Series Daredevil he will be played by Vincent D'Onofrio.

Marvel released a mugshot of its new Kingpin, Vincent D'Onofrio.  Who I assume will be appearing in its new Defender's Saga Series.  The Kingpin could really appear in any of the heroes stories and maybe he will appear in all of them.It actually may make sense for him to be the guy in the shadows that is behind all of the bad stuff the heroes encounter and then they find themselves joining forces to go against him.

The Kingpin is one of the Mysterious Seagate Files.  These files seem to be giving out information on the villains of upcoming Marvel projects like the Defenders, Iron Man, and Ant Man but I am not certain who made them.
Do the Seagate Files reveal the secrets of the Kingpin?

Interestingly he is a method actor and I will be curious if this role effects him in a negative way.  He has said he still has nightmares based off of his research for his role in the Cell.

I don't see D'Onofrio having anywhere near that physical size, however as a very good actor I think he can portray a very ruthless crimelord / mastermind.

Which Marvel Hero could eat the most on Thanksgiving?

It is that time again, Thanksgiving also known as National Over Eating day.  Familes across the country will be meeting throughout the country sit at tables with 10x the amount of food they should eat and then eat it. Then people stumble around and eventually collapse to watch Football.  OF course everyone feels very thankful afterwards.

The question remains which Marvel Character could throw down the best and eat the most on Thanksgiving?

Here are some top candidates!


Wilson Fisk the Kingpin. 


 The Kingpin is not typically shown wolfing down food but he is a really big dude.  You have to guess that all that girth comes from somewhere.
Despite being extremely physically fit the Kingpin looks pretty chunky and thats something that Spider-Man lets Wilson know everytime they fight.


Hercules
Hercules keeps a nice figure but the son of Zeus has been known to put down a lot of food when celebrating.


Fat Cobra
Fat Cobra is both huge and gluttonous.  He has never seen a meal he didn't like.    Plus he got some eating lessons from Elvis.......and or taught Elvis how to eat.



Volstagg
Volstagg is a massive Asgardian with the appetite of a hungry god.




The Blob - The X-Men villain 
The Blob is a huge mutant who has a mutant power that helps him absorb matter.  An eating contest against this would just not even be fair.




Finally the Marvel character I think who could eat the aboslute most.


Galactus
Galactus eats planets.
Does that disqualify him?  Not sure but if he is allowed into an eating contest Galactus wins!

How do you beat Dragonite? Pokemon Go questions

Lets face it....Dragons are cool!  Everybody loves Dragons and who would not want a Dragon Pokemon.  It should surprise no one then that Dragonites are popping up in gyms all over the freaking place.  What some may find surprising is not only how common these Dragonites are in gyms but also how hard they are to take down.

Dragonite is a rare and powerful Pokemon.  Despite its rarity it is showing up in gyms across the country.  It is the final evolutionary form of Dratini.  Dratini evolves into Dragon Air that then evolves into Dragonite.

One really cool aspect of Dragonite is that it is a hybrid Dragon/Flying Pokemon.  There are not very many Dragon type Pokemon's in the game.  Dragon type Pokemon are also very potent with few weaknesses.

Dragonite might be the best of all Pokemon to get right now.  Not only is it a powerful Pokemon that does very well in gym battles it also has attributes that let it to stay there for awhile.  Some Pokemon that are sitting on top of gyms in the beginning stages of Pokemon GO are slow Pokemon that are likely to drop in effectiveness if the game alters how Speed is used.  This change would weaken Pokemon like Snorlax, Vaporeon and Exeggcutor.  Dragonite however is fairly fast and thus no matter what the change is he will still be a potent gym defender.


Dragonite Raids:
Dragonite Raids have released as part of the Pikachu event in Japan.

Remember that Pokemon Types are very IMPORTANT

Want to take down this teethy monster?   Its not easy but it can be done with some planning.  

Dragonite is a Dragon / Flying Pokemon.  Dragon pokemon are most susceptible to Fairy Pokemon.  The next best types are Steel or Ice.
Unfortunately are not very many Fairy, Steel or Ice Pokemon and they are all pretty rare.
Likely the best bet here is Clefairy a Fairy Pokemon that can be common in some areas.  I have also seen some steel Magnemites here and there so that is a possibility too.  There are a couple of Pokemon with Ice attacks like Jinx that could also be used.

None of those options are particularly appealing to most trainers as you are dealing with pretty rare pokemon where its doubtful you have one at a high CP level.

Looking at the Flying side of the coin seems like the thing to do.  Flying are susceptible to Rock, Ice, and Electric.  However since Dragon type do well against Electric I think you should cross that option off the list.

ICE POKEMON!!!



Time to mention one other powerful Pokemon that is likely to do well against Dragonite and that is Lapras.
Once again Ice jumps out at me as both Flying and Dragon Pokemon share a weakness to it.  This means that Dragonite has a double weakness to Ice he receives double the type damage for super effective attacks.  What makes Ice even better is that there are some powerful likes Blizzard.  If you can find a pokemon with Blizzard try it against Dragonite and you will be pleased.  Here are Pokemon with Ice  attacks Cloyster, Jinx, and Lapras.  Some people do have a powerful Lapras.  IF you have a Lapras I think its a shoe in to battle Dragonite.

Of all of the Ice Pokemon I think the best one is Lapras but I have a lot of luck with Cloyster as ewll.

In this video you can see a extremely powerful Dragonite and one of the best Pokemon against it was a Lapras.





Another option is to exploit the Flying weakness to Rock Pokemon and my favorite option there is to use Golem a final evolution of Geodude that is fairly common in the game. I like Golem and he can be found relatively easily in many places.

So here are the top options to use against Dragonite and keep in mind that no matter what you need to be fairly close to your opponent in CP.  Dragonite is a top notch Pokemon no matter what.   
Clefairy / Clefable, Lapras, Cloyster, Jinx, and Golem.

Mewtwo is a massively popular character in part because he is the most serious and scary looking of all Pokemon.  He is like a scary, psychic, cat Frankenstein, a FrankenMon! Mewtwo has often been considered to be the most powerful Pokemon in previous games. He is also considered to be a legendary Pokemon.

Mewtwo is said to come from a gene splicing experiment that was performed on another powerful pokemon called a Mew.  While the Mew is pretty cute looking the Mewtwo is big and scary.
 Due to its genetic testing the Mewtwo is said to have the darkest and most ruthless heart of all Pokemon.   It lives to battle and effectively destroy all other Pokemon.

This is what we have all been waiting for.




First release of Mewtwo was in Yokohama Japan's Pokemon Go event on August 13 2017.  Mewtwo was released as 49k cp Raid Boss.

As part of the Pikachu party event in Japan players were given a time slot to come to a stadium for a special stadium raid.
Mewtwo had previousily been tweeked slighly to lower its overall CP.  This was presumabley to make him more beatable for the event.  The event also countered the cell phone server issues by only allowing groups into the stadium for 15 minute increments.  Once that time duration had ended the group left and a new group came in.  This is likely how Pokemon Go events will work for now on to avoid what happened in GoFest in Chicago.

MewTwo will be released out in raids globally after the Yokohama Pikachu Party Event.  The Raids will start out as being exlusive invite Raids given to players who have done a certain amount of raids/Legendary Raids.  It sounds like MewTwo will be released in a few weeks.  This gives Trainers all around the world to prepare and you will need to prepare.  I recommend on doing some Legendary Raids now so that you will get on the invite list.

Niantic on Exclusive Raids:

“Exclusive Raid Battles are similar to existing Raid Battles, with a few notable differences. Exclusive raids will periodically appear at Gyms around the world; however, unlike existing raids, Trainers will be invited to join an Exclusive Raid Battle. To receive an invitation to participate in an Exclusive Raid Battle, Trainers must have successfully completed a raid recently, by defeating the Raid Boss, at the Gym where the Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place. The invitations will include advance warning of when the Exclusive Raid will take place, giving them ample time to coordinate with other Trainers before taking on the powerful Raid Boss.”

You will be able to Catch MewTwo through Raids once it is released Globally.  However that means you need to get your Dark Squad ready.  What is Dark Squad?  See below for details you NEED a Dark Squad to take on MewTwo.

So you have somehow managed to enter a battle with imposing Mewtwo.  Want to take down this ruthless brainiac?

I have some strategies for you.

Keep in mind that Mewtwo is bound to be super powerful so even with a type advantage it may still clobber you.

The First strategy is build up the Dark Squad.  These are Pokemon with an attack advantage against by using Dark Attacks.  See below for the Top Counters to see the Pokemon we have added to the Dark Squad.

2nd Strategy is a defensive Group:
Mewtwo is a psychic Pokemon and psychic pokemon have peculiarity of having attacks that do not work well on each other. One simple strategy is to find a Psychic Type Pokemon with non Psychic attacks. Two Pokemon that tend to meet this criteria are Jinx that is a Psychic Ice hybrid and Slowbro which is a Psychic / Water pokemon hybrid.  Both of these Pokemon tend to have at least one non Psychic attack.  The problem with this strategy is that both Jinx and Slobro are fairly rare.  People have them but I have not seen a lot of them.

Another Pokemon that is a psychic hybrid that has been showing up a lot is Exeggutor.  I think he could be a great Pokemon to use against Mewtwo.  Exeggutor is part Grass and part psychic.  His attacks if they are grass should work at a normal level and the psychic attacks of Mewtwo will have their damage halved.


Third Strategy - Most Powerful DPS attackers
Really where you might end up with Mewtwo is just using a team of your most powerful Pokemon and hope for the best.  Good Pokmeon here are Dragonite and Flareon.

4th Strategy DO NOT USE FIGHTING MONS
What ever you do, do not use Fighting Pokemon as Psychic Pokemon have an advantage against them.  You do not need to give a powerful pokemon like Mewtwo any advantages.





Top MewTwo Counters:
I call this crew of Pokemon the Dark Squad.  They are almost necessary to have these Pokemon Build Up.  Meet the Dark Squad I think these Pokemon are now almost mandatory if you want to have a chance to take down a Mewtwo.  I don't think you can show up in a raid without these and have a chance, I think everyone in that Raid is going to need to show up with at least a couple of these in order for you to have a shot.  That is just how powerful MewTwo is.

• Tyranitar with Dark Moves (Bite, Crunch)
• Houndoom with Dark Moves (Snarl, Foul Play)
• Umbreon with Dark Moves
• Gengar with Shadowball or Shadow Claw. or Dark Moves Keep in mind this option is really a glass cannon and you will need to dodge.
• Gyarados - Dark move Set (Bite, Crunch)

Other options Exeggutor or other psychic pokemon that does not have Psychic moves.  An Exegguctor with grass moves.  These are move defensive options.

• Exegguctor - No Psychic Moves
• Jinx - No Psychic Moves
• Slowking - No Psychic Moves

I am not as big of a fan of the defensive options because in order to drop MewTwo's health down you need to be unleashing damage at a fast rate.

Other option is high dps pokemon these are just general solid choices to unleash a lot of Damage.

• Flareon
• Dragonite

I think this gives you a lot of option but really, really focus on the Dark Squad.

A not so long time ago in a galaxy not so far away I reviewed the expansion of the X-Wing game for the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  The game X-Wing is a great game made by Fantasy Flight that takes place in the Star Wars Universe.  In X-Wing players each take a side in an epic dog fight using Star Wars fighters.  The game can either played casually or highly competitiviely and has managed to have its own robust gaming scene.

When the Star Wars: The Force Awakens came out Fantasy Flight Created a special new Core Set (The set you buy to start playing the game) set in the time period of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.  At the time I thought this was really cool because it would let you play games where Poe Dameron could go against Darth Vader.  I also hoped that Fantasy Flight would add more ships from the new time period so players could play scenarios from the new films.  Unfortunetly, not many expansions set in the new trilogy time period emerged.  There was a First Order Shuttle craft, and a Quad Jumper.  The only other ships were the Tie-Fights and X-Wings found within the coreset itself.  Now with the Last Jedi coming out that is going to change.  Fantasy Flight has 2 new expansions from the upcoming film and both look really exciting.

Tie Silencer
The new First Order ship is Kylo Ren's Tie-Silencer and the Resistance ship is the Resistance Bomber.  Both ships have already been seen in the trailers to the film.

The Tie Silencer comes with a Kylo Ren pilot card that comes with the special power "I'll Show you the Dark Side" that allows him to search through the damage deck for a card that specifically mentions the targeted enemy pilot.  The Silencer will sell for $29.95.

Trailer for Star Wars the Last Jedi shows Kylo Ren's Tie Silencer in action.  It appears he is swooping in to take out the ship his mother Leia is on.  Kylo's narrates the scene saying: "Let the past die, kill it, if you have to, its the only way to become what you are meant to be.

The ship moves in trailer fast, stealthy and aggressive just completly bad ass.  If your like me and have already watched the trailer 50 times then you likely don't need to watch it again.  I will post it here though in the chance that you just were let out of jail or something.

Resistance Bomber

The Resistance B/SF-17 heavy bomber appeared in Star Wars: The Last Jedi first teaser.  There were multiple of the bombers in a row preparing to attack.  This seems consistent with Fantasy Flight says as far as lore for the ship saying that it is protected by turrents and fights in a formation with other B/SF-17s.  The ship also comes with blue explosions that I presume are from its bombs.

 This ship is a bit larger cand comes with whopping three shield and nine hull points.  This expansion will retail for $39.95.


Each set comes with the ships, tokens and a scenario to be used with each ship.  You will still need a coreset to play.  The ships from original star wars expansions and core set are compatible with the new sets.  Both sets are said to be available in early 2018.

 Spider-Gwen is a Spider-Woman from an alternative Marvel universe where the radioactive spider that gave Peter Parker his powers bit Gwen Stacey instead of Parker.  Since making her debut in Edge of the Spider-verse #2 everyone has been clamoring for more Spider-Gwen.  She could become the breakout comic character of the year, and this is already being reflected by cosplayers.

Who is Volstagg?


Volstagg is a Marvel character who is a member of the Asgardian Race.  He is a friend and compatriot of the hero Thor.  Volstagg is most often attached to a group of Thor's friends called "The Warriors Three".  In film Volstagg was played by actor Ray Stevenson in Thor and Thor: The Darkworld.  The Volstagg from the Ultimate's Universe is revealed to have picked up the Ultimate Thor's hammer and become War Thor.

 Bio:

Volstagg is a larger than life warrior who is one of the biggest Asgardians.

No warriors on Asgard are better at boasting and bragging than Volstagg though he sometimes has trouble backing up his claims.  He calls himself the"Lion of Asgard".  He is sometimes depicted as Oafish and bumbling through battles. Sometimes he causes far more problems than he fixes.  He is gluttonous and eats and drinks many more times than he should.  Despite his faults he is noble and loyal to the death to his friends.  He also shown to be a doting, and loving father.

In some stories it has been suggested that Volstagg was once one of the greatest warriors of Asgard but lost his edge (and physique) as he grew older.   Volstagg met the other members of the Warriors Three during a bet to pet the wolf monster Fenris.  The wolf deals all three warriors a bitter defeat.  A.I.M. analyzed Volstagg and believed that it was shame from this loss that perpetrated Volstagg's poor eating habits.

Volstagg has had many adventures with the Warriors Three, the warrior goddess Sif, and Thor.  He has battled Mangog, Thermal Man, Surtur, Mogul of Mystic Mountain, the Destroyer, Loki, Flying Trolls of Thryheim, Fafnir, Mephisto, Hela, Ego-Prime, Xorr, Ssthagar's Slavers, Mercurio, Zarrko the Tomorrow Man, Spoor, Grey Gargoyle, Enchantress, Skurge the Executioner.

Once Volstagg squared off with the Hulk.  He lasted for a time before being tossed into a road side ditch.

Unlike the other Warriors Three, Volstagg is a father.  He has 2 Asgardian children; Hilde and Rolfe.  He also has adopted to Midgardian (Human) children; Kevin and Mick.  Both Hogun and Fandral have pledged to look over the children as well.  As a family man Volstagg has a soft spot for children and been shown to commit to near suicidal acts of bravery to save innocent children from harms way.  He once killed a group of alien monsters with his bare hands attacking a small girl.

Volstagg perishes in Ragnarok but is found reborn like most of the Asgardians by Thor.
He helps defend Asgard in the Siege event where Norman Osborn's forces assault the kingdom.

War Thor



"Behold the War Thor and Prepare to Bleed"

In the events of Unworthy Thor, Thor now going by the name of Odinson is searching for a new hammer after his original hammer is taken up by Jane Foster.  Jane Foster takes up the mantle of Thor and Thor goes by Odinson.  Due to the fluctuations of Secret Wars another hammer of Thor is found in the universe believed to have come from the Ultimates Universe. Odinson and Beta Ray Bill set out to retrieve the hammer against a backdrop of many villains who are also hunting for the hammer.  In the end, Odinson decides not to use the hammer.  Another Asgardian goes to the hammer and picks it up and begins to call himself War Thor.  This War Thor is revealed to be a war ravaged Volstagg from the Ultimates Universe.  This Volstagg has lost his children due to war and has grown cold hard and is brutal.  Volstagg always had one of the biggest hearts of all the Asgardians but this version of Volstagg has had his heart ripped out and stomped on.








 Powers:
Like most Asgardians he has:
Super Strength
Super Speed
Super Agility
Super Stamina
Enhanced Durability
Slower Aging

Though generally past his prime Volstagg has shown bouts of extreme strength and fighting prowess.  He has briefly gone toe to toe with the Hulk and has slain Monster aliens with his barehands.

He is considered to be one of the best drinkers and storytellers on Asgard.

In film Volstagg was played by actor Ray Stevenson in Thor and Thor: The Darkworld.

Who is Rick Grimes?

Rick Grimes is the main character and protagonist in the comic and TV show of The Walking Dead.  Rick is played by the actor Andrew Lincoln.

Bio:
 

Rick Grimes is a Sheriff in Georgia.  He has a small family with a wife Lori, and a son Carl.  Unknown to Rick his partner on the Police force, Shane has begun his sleeping with his wife.  While on duty Rick is shot and ends up in the hospital and was placed into a medically induced coma.  Rick awakens to a bizarre scene.   He is in the hospital in a bed and no one is around.   The machine that had been feeding his body medicines and fluids had long since stopped working.   Pulling himself up and stumbling into the hall he finds even more bizarreness, the halls are empty, there are mutilated corpses on the ground.  He finds a barred door that is being rattled by what sounds like groaning people.  Words written on the door read;

"Do not open.   Dead inside"

Thus begins the journey of Rick Grimes into the world of the Walking Dead.  He meets a father, Morgan who fills him in on the outbreak.  Morgan, Rick and Morgan's son Duane break into a Sherrif's office and procure guns for protection.  Rick then leaves the two so he can find his family.

  He goes on to find his family (Lori and Carl) and a group of survivors who to look at him as a leader.

As a leader of a group facing herds of zombies and other brutal bands of survivors Rick is forced to balance his morality with the requirements of survival.   He leads the group to multiple homes, through multiple wars and through a never ending sea of zombies.   New members join the group, and often die.   Rick develop trusted warriors and advisers but in this world death is always around the next corner.

He struggles with how to raise Carl in this new brutal world.  He wants his son to be strong so he can survive in it.  However, when Carl becomes cold and callous Rick worries that he has gone too far.  He tries to bring his son back so he can enjoy some of his childhood.  While not successful at returning his son's innocence he does manage to impart his values.

Despite the challenges of his world manages to keep his group alive with their humanity intact.

Rick first leads and creates a community in a prison.  This community is forced to flee after an attack by another group lead by a man called the Governor.  He eventually find and becomes the leader of another community called the Alexandria Safe Zone.  As the leader of the Safe Zone he begins to create a network of other communities that helps battle other aggressive groups like the Saviors.

When he defeats the Saviors he makes the controversial decision of keeping the violent leader of the group Negan alive in a cell.  The act while dangerous serves to show that Rick is meaningfully different than other tyrants that have cropped up around the world and leads an aura of morality to his actions.   A fact not lost on Negan himself, who resents being held like a trophy.  The communities create a loose network that is held together primarily under the leadership of Rick even if he does not hold an official title.  The communities begin to encounter a large group of people who live amongst the walkers.  This group is large and violent and call themselves the Whispers.  The Whispers and Rick have a meeting where they agree on a rough border between themselves.  The Whispers have already killed people who had inadvertently trespassed into their territory.  The deaths already caused by the Whispers begins to lead into the event known as the Whisper War.

Image the company that produces the Walking Dead is selling #163 of the series for 25 cents.  The low price and heavy promotion of the series has made it the highest ordered comic in 20 years with pre orders from Diamond Distributors topping 730,000 preorders of the issue. The issue will begin a new arc in the series provocatively called "Conquered".  The series take up after the Whisper War is over and in the paradigm that exists between the communities and the Whispers.  There is a rumor that Rick Grimes could die in #163.

In Pokemon Go gyms across the world players will soon hear:

"Tyranitar is coming!........."

"Thud"

"Tyranitar IS COMING"

"Thud Thud"

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh" (Loud crunching sounds)

Pokemon Go is gearing up to launch its Gen 2 pokemon.  Some of the Gen 2 Pokemon the babies have already been released.  There are a whole slew of other Pokemon coming and of them all I think the most feared and highly anticipated will by Tyranitar.  Tyranitar is a big, as one would expect from a Pokemon based off a Tyrannosaurs Rex.  It might be more accurate to say he is based off of T-Rex and Godzilla.  He looks very imposing, and will have a massive high CP.  Tyranitar will have the highest Max CP of all the Gen 2 Pokemon coming in at an astounding 3600 Max CP.

Tyranitar is number #1 on the max CP list for Gen 2 Pokemon.

Tyranitar is also one of the top Pokemon Counter to use against multiple Legendary Pokemon.  It is a must for Legendary Raids!



That said Tyranitar does have some pretty big Type based weaknesses that should be able to be exploited.  In my mind this may make Tyranitar a attacking Pokemon rather than a gym defender.  That said I expect people to through them into gyms just because he has a high CP.  Many times people just through in high CP pokemon because they will be higher in the gym rankings.  Amusingly a gym of all low CP Chanseys (The Chansey Castle) would be far harder to defeat.

About Tyranitar:

"Its body can't be harmed by any sort of attack, so it is very eager to make challenges against enemies." Pokedex entry from Pokemon Gold

Tyranitar is a Dark and Rock hybrid type of Pokemon.  It is the final form of evolution of Larvitar.  Larvitar evolves into Pupitar and Pupitar into Tyranitar.  Tyranitar's have been depicted in some Pokemon series as being able to evolve into a Mega Tyranitar that is even more powerful.  At this point I do not believe the Mega evolution will be available in Pokemon Go.

One ability that Tyranitar is famous for is Sandstream.  Sandstream creates a sandstorm weather effect that last the duration of its battle.  This gives Tyranitar a massive step up on other Pokemon it is battling.  However, like the Mega evolutions I do not think this will come over into Pokemon Go.  Moves for Tyranitar will likely include:  Crunch -Dark, Earthquake - Ground, Stone Edge - Rock, and Hyper Beam - Normal.   I will say though that many rumors have gone around about expanding the battle system in Pokemon Go so its possible.

Now for the ultimate question!  How do you beat, kill, defeat Tyranitar.  What Pokemon is a counter Tyranitar?


Tip: Generally Try fighting Pokemon!  They will get double type damage against Tyranitar!

Machamp

I don't have a Machamp with a very high CP so for me I will still likely use Prime Ape, Poliwrath or Vaporeon.  That said a Machamp with fighting moves and a high CP would be a good counter against Tyrnaitar.  The FIGHTING moves type damage would be doubled.

Another fighting Pokemon to try is Primeape in particular if you do not have a strong Machamp.


Vaporeon

The first option and I think the one that will be the most popular is using Vaporeon.  I know, I know everyone is saying Vaporeon again?  Well Vaporeon is a water type Pokemon and WATER is good against Rock.  Moreover, Vaporeon is powerful, high CP and also very popular.  I think everyone has a solid Vaporeon.  Too me the abundance of Vaporeon is the number one reason why I do not see Tyranitar lasting long in gyms.  There are just too many high level Vaporeons that will take its lunch.


Poliwrath

Poliwrath is a fighting and water Pokemon and is high CP to boot.  Poliwrath would be a better option than Vaporeon all else considered if he has fighting moves.  Both Dark/Rock have a weakeness to FIGHTING which should double the type set damage delivered by the FIGHTING moves.  The  WATER from Poliwrath will also work well against Tyranitar they just won't get a double attack bonus like the FIGHTING moves will.

Other Good Options

• Heracross with Counter Close Combat
• Vaporeon (Or other Water Pokemon with Water Gun, Hydro Pump)
• Venusaur, Exeggucutor or anything with Solar Beam.

The Common Wealth is another group to challenge the existence of the communties of Alexandria in the Universe of the Walking Dead.  The group began to be promoted as villains in the run up toward New York Comic Con 2017.  The group first appeared in a 6 issue story arc called New World Order.

Toylab Speculation:
Not much is known about the Common Wealth but they will become a major threat to the group in 2018.  It is possible the Common Wealth is located in the central part of the United States which is an area that has not been explored by either the Walking Dead (TV or comics) or the companion series Fear the Walking Dead.

While generally I associate the word Common Wealth with the UK there are also 4 US states that refer to themselves as Common Wealth including Kentucky (Where Kirkman is from), Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Viginia. Walking Dead survivors have recently been moving West and hit Pittsburgh in Pennslyvania. Its possible the name Common Wealth is a hint that they could be either from Pennslyvania or Kentucky which would be close to that area.

Who is Agamotto?

 Agamotto is an entity within the Marvel Universe.  He is one of the three powerful entities known as the Vishanti from whom Doctor Strange draws much of his powers and knowledge of magic from.  He is generally considered to be benevolent.

Alias:  Agamotto the all seeing

First Appearance: Strange Tales #115



 

 Origins:
Agamotto claims that his origins go back to the beginning of Earth.   He is a non physical, non corporeal entity that was born from an entity called Oshtur around 10 million years ago.  He becomes a magical defender of the Earth dimension and helps protect it early on from Dormammu.   In this role as protector of Earth he is sometimes referred to as the first Sorcerer Supreme.

At some point Agamotto works with the human sorcerers of Earth to select a single powerful sorcerer to act as the world's Sorcerer Supreme.  Agamotto then bestows various magical artifacts to the Sorcerer Supreme.  These artifacts include the : Eye of Agamotto, Orb of Agamotto and the Book of the Vishanti.

Agamotto is part of the group known as the Vishanti and often appears with the other Vishanti being Hoggoth and Oshtur.  Oshtur is the elder goddess of the Earth and the mother of Agamotto.  The 3 Vishanti are benevolent omnipotent forces that are often opposes by other powerful entities.  The group of entities that counter the Vishanti are the Trinity of Ashes.  The Trinity of Ashes is made up of evil entities that includes Griefsavor, Ygmlosvorraich, and Mother of Pain.  Very little is known about these other 3 entities.  The Vishanti and the Trinity of Ashes face off in a ritualized 5 thousand year war called the War of the Seven Spheres.

The power level of Agamotto is extremely high.  It is thought that his power is greater than Hoggoth and Oshtur combined even though he is the spawn of Oshtur.  He has also been shown dealing with other cosmic entities such as Galactus and Dormammu.


Appearance:
 Agamotto can take on any appearance and tends to take on something from the mind of those he is meeting.  He has appeared as a Lion, Tiger, and as the giant caterpillar from Alice and Wonderland.

Personality: 
The personality of Agamotto greatly varies from formal, to informal, to glib, to threatening, to silly, indifferent and even hostile.  The varied personality is sometimes thought as testing the Sorcerer Supreme in various guises.
Generally Agamotto seems to care about the well being of all universes and for helping the forces of good overcome evil.  If he did not then the world would have very quickly been overtaken by Dormammu.

Agamotto is mentioned numerous times in Doctor Strange as the first Sorceror Supreme.  The Eye of Agamotto which is revealed to be the time infinity stone is also heavily featured.
At one point Wu says that Agamotto was the one who created the Eye of Agamotto.

Who is Crystal?



Crystal is Marvel hero that is known for being a member of the Inhuman Royal family.  She is an Inhuman with the power to project and manipulate elements.  She has also had numerous romantic relatiionships including with the Human Torch, Quicksilver and Ronan of the Kree.
Crystal is one of the Inhumans that will be in the Film/Show Inhumans where she is played by actress Isabelle Cornish.

Real Name :Crystalia Amaquelin

Alias(es): Crystal  Ixchel, Elementelle

Species: Inhuman

First Appearance: Fantastic Four #45 (1965)

Crystal Bio:


Crystal is part of the Inhuman royal family and is the sister of Medusa.  She has the unique history of being part of the Inhumans, Avengers, and Fantastic 4. There are few if any other character who have been a part of all those teams.  She has also had relationships with a variety of characters that make up a lot of her history.

She falls in love with the Human Torch and she dates him.  He kind of seems to be her true love and they even flirt with each other when he is married to the Alicia Masters (Who is really the Skrull agent Lyja).


She marries Quicksilver.  They have a child named Luna who is born with no powers.  Apparently, her mutant and inhuman DNA cancel each other out making her human.  This is point of contention in their marriage and with a variety of other groups.  Luna is kind of a tragic kid who is constantly being kidnapped by people to make a point.  Crystal's marriage with Quicksilver sucks.  I hate to say this because I love the Quicksilver portrayed in the film but the Quicksilver depicted in the comics was a complete dickhead.  When you read these comics you are basically waiting for Crystal or one of the other Inhumans to blast Quicksilver into itty bitty bits.



Crystal later ends up marrying Ronan the Accuser in an arranged marriage.  The marriage was meant to unite the Kree and Inhumans.  This did not really work.  They ended up really loving each other after a time but their relationship was starcrossed as cosmic politics pulled them apart.


After the events of Inhumanity that saw Attilan brought to Earth and a Terrigen cloud sweeping the world creating many new Inhumans Medusa took control of the Inhumans.  Crystal maintained service to the royal family and became an ambassador.  Crystal's ambassador team included Gorgon, Naja, Flint, and Grid and they went around the world meeting with different governments and groups.  They were attacked the X-Man Frenzy but Crystal easily subdued him with her Elemental powers.  She later helped rescue a New Man named Ash from an anti-Inhuman mob in Australia.

Crystal has the ability to project and control the elements.





MCU



Crystal will appear in the live action show The Inhumans and be played by actress Isabelle Cornish.

Pictures of Crystal reveal that she will have the yellow and black costume similar to her comic counterpart.  In one seen she does seem to be launching a fire ball from her hand that is blocked by an opponent.

Crstal is shown lounging next to the dog like Inhuman Lockjaw. In one cute promo that has been praised by fans.


Casting:
Isabelle Cornish is an Australian model and actress who has appeared in Australian television shows such as Puberty Blues, Home and Away, and Dance Academy.  She will not likely be a well known face or name to American audiences but that will change when she appears in the Inhumans.

West Coast Avengers ASSEMBLE!!!

The Toylab crew is headed to Los Angeles!  Specifically to 1800 Palos Verdes Drive along the beautiful and sunny Pacific Coastline.  The large Mansion at this address is also known as the Avengers Mansion and is home to a group called the West Coast Avengers.

Who are the West Coast Avengers?
Hawkeye creates the West Coast Avengers after the Vision mentions that the Avengers should have another team there.  Hawkeye then pull together a group of heroes to avenge the west coast, while the traditional East Coast Avengers are led by the Vision.

We want you to come along for the ride!

Through out the 80s the West Coast Avengers were one of the most rocking teams in comics.  Now it appears that this team could once again come into the limelight and we at Toylab want to be ready.  Over the next week we are going to focus heavily on this team, its members, battles and history. There is going to be whole slew of West Coast themed posts!


Why are the West Coast Avengers important now!

A few reasons but notably this.  Two of the characters that are most associated with the West Coast Avengers are Daisy Johnson (Founder of Ultimate's West Coast) and Mockingbird (Founder of Avengers West Coast) and both of these characters are main characters in Agents of SHIELD.  Additionally, the upcoming Age of Ultron movie is going to introduce some of the primary players in the West Coast Saga characters like the Vision, Quicksilver, and the Scarlet Witch. With talk of an Agents of SHIELD spin off it seems at least possible that the series could focus on a form of West Coast Avengers.

 There has been a lot of art focused on the character Spider-Gwen.  Spider-Gwen is a character who comes from an alternative dimension where Gwen Stacey became Spider-Man instead of Spider-Man.  She has not been featured in very many comics yet but there has been a ton of fan activity on the character.  Here is some of the amazing fan made art.  It is hard not to love all of these.

Who is Jigsaw? Who is Billy Russo in the Punisher?

Jigsaw is a villain of the Marvel anti-hero the Punisher.  Wayne Knight played Microchip in the film Punisher Warzone (2008).  In the Netflix series the Punisher, Micro is played by actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

Real Name: Billy Russo

Alias(es): The Beaut, The Heavy, Jigsaw

Affliliation: Maggia, Hood's Crime Syndicate

Jigsaw Bio:

The Punisher has many pscychopathic villains however Jigsaw is one of the worst.  Born as Billy Russo he is the son of an abusive father and after being kicked out at the age of 10 raises himself.  Billy enters the criminal world and eventually becomes known as a hitman under the handle "The Beaut".  The Beaut referenced his good looks.  He married a woman name Susan and they had a child named Henry.  Billy was an abusive husband and father.  He once forced Henry to drown his pet cat, under the threat of shooting his mother.

A assassination attempt gone bad results in the death of the family of Frank Castle.  To cover up the assassination attempt Frank Costa hires Russo to kill anyone who have a connection to Castle.  He is provided a list of targets including Frank Castle himself.  Castle survives a bombing attempt on his life that was orchestrated by Russo.  Castle tracks down Russo in a nightlclub frequented by Maggia gangsters there he kills everyone except Russo.  He throw Russo through a pane of glass that shatters and baddly cuts up Russo's face.  The scars on his face resemble a jigsaw puzzle and Russo's begins to call himself Jigsaw to match his horrific appearance.  Russo is only left alive by Castle so that he can deliver the message that Frank Castle is pursuing the criminal that killed his family.

Jigsaw has a few plots against the Punisher.  His first attempt is to frame him but this goes bad when one of his murders is seen by Night Crawler and Spider-Man.  He also drugs Castle for a time causing Castle to be even more brutal than normal.

For a time he works for a cult leader with demonic powers names the Rev.  The Rev uses his demonic influence to restore Jigsaw's face to normal.  The fix to his face is temporary and it eventaully returns to its normal patchwork self.  The Punisher and Jigsaw both end up in Rykers where a battle ensues.  Punisher barely escapes Rykers with his life.

Jigsaw has attempted to wear a version of the Punisher costume to both frame and infuriate Castle.  He also created his own version of the Punisher by using a brainwashed soldier.  This man though ends up shooting Jigsaw when the plot unravels.  Jigsaw survives the shooting.

Jigsaw's son Henry betrays his father and begins to work for Castle.  He manages to trick Henry into capturing Castle for him by using Lady Gorgon to pretend to be Maria Castle.  This ends bad for Jigsaw as Castle escapes and immediatly begins fighitng Jigsaw.  The building they are battling on catches fire and Jigsaw ends up falling into the inferno below.  He still surives.

Jigsaw comes to work for the Hood Crime Syndicate during the events of Secret Invasion and Dark Reign.  He is brought in as an adviser when Wilson Fisk is attempting to rebuild his empire in the events of Civil War II.

Jigsaw has no super powers but is a highly trained and physically fit man.

MCU:

Jigsaw will appear in the MCU Netflix show The Punisher.  Actor Ben Barnes plays Billy Russo who is an old friend of Frank Castles from their days in the military.    Russo now runs his own private military organization known as Anvil.



Punisher War Zone:

Dominic West played Microchip in Punisher Warzone (2008).  The character's name was Billy "The Beaut" Russoti.  Billy is attending at mobster dinner that is attacked.  He escapes to a recycyling plant and hideousily mangled when he falls into a glass crusher that is then turned on by Castle.  The plastic surgeon of Billy barely manages to put the semblance of a face together and is then killed by Billy.  Billy decides to name himself Jigsaw to match his appearance.  He then pursues the Punisher to get his own revenge.
