A GWAR comic is being made by Dynamite called Orgasmageddon.
If you are a GWAR you are saying YES!!!!!!!!!!!
But most of you are likely just saying Huh what the heck is GWAR?
GWAR is a band that is very ...........theatrical. They play heavy metal music and pose as giant alien monster conquerers of Earth. Their shows are filled with political and social satire as they mock kill anything and everything that gets in their way.
As described by Wikipedia Gwar can be indentitifed by:
"their distinctively grotesque costumes, Gwar's core thematic and visual concept revolves around an elaborate science fiction-themed mythology which portrays the band members as barbaric interplanetary warriors, a narrative which serves as the basis for all of the band's albums, videos, live shows and other media. Rife with over-the-top violent, sexual, and scatological humour typically incorporating social and political satire, Gwar have attracted both acclaim and controversy for their music and stage shows, the latter of which notoriously showcase enactments of graphic violence that result in the audience being sprayed with copious amounts of fake blood, urine, and semen. Such stagecraft regularly leads Gwar to be labeled a "shock rock" band by the media."Basically you go to a Gwar show and there are giant monsters running around. The guys on stage are in these elaborate monster suits and have giant spray cannons that spray out any and all types of fake bodily fluids. Its pretty nuts, and really something to see.
Funny and True Gwar Story:
In college at CU Boulder my brother learned that Gwar was coming. He quickly found a few friends to go with him. As they chatted excitedly about this Gwar band some friends who were girls overheard and asked "What is Gwar?" My brother being a mischevious asshole replied, "Oh they sound like Jack Johnson". The girls come with them to the show and are entirely unprepared for the insanity that is about to transpire.
My brother said he realized too late that the group was standing in the middle of what would become a mosh pit. The show started and their entire group was thrown around and for a few songs he lost everyone. He then managed to find one of the girls who was laughing as she was entirely covered in fake blood and could only say "Your such an asshole."
A few years later they were married........oh wait that last part is not quite right.
House does Gwar Translate to a Comic?
I am not sure exactly. However, they are very funny and they have a definite style. They also use a lot of characters in their shows that could be turned into comic characters. Overall I think it makes some sense especially with their fans.
