Every Pokemon fan know and likely loves the adorable Pikachu. Pikachu is the main Pokemon featured in the Pokemon cartoon series and is quite literally the face of the franchise.
For whatever reason the Pokemon games never make it straightforward to start with Pikachu. Instead, they force the user to pick up one of a group of starting Pokemon. These Pokemon tend to be fairly popular too, but they are not Pikachu! Come on few things in this world are as cute as a Pikachu.
Like most of the games Pokemon Go seems to force users to pick one three Pokemon: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle as their starting Pokemon. However, users have found a way to get a Pikachu instead.
If you continually run away from Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur a new Pokemon will appear, a Pikachu! You can capture it and make it your starting Pokemon.
Now if you are a huge Pikachu fan and you did not do this, do not fear. You can still catch Pikachu later on. Also keep in mind the starting Pokemon do not mean all that much in Pokemon Go. I would actually argue that they mean less than in any prior Pokemon game because you do not battle instantly to build them up.
