In the fantasy literary world right now there are two books that are commonly talked about.  The first is the next Game of Thrones and the 2nd is Jim Butcher's Peace Talks.  Butcher had been a methodical, novel making machine as he cranked out nearly one Dresden File Novel a year up until.......Peace Talks.  Seriousily between 2000 and 2015 Butcher has written 15 Dresden Files books along with 6 Codex Alera novels and other projects.

Then after 2015 ......there was a pause.  Various theories have been posited.  Jim was building a house, Jim was having personal issues, health issues.  To me the real issue was that Jim spoiled all of his fans by being so perfect for so long.  I am biased I have ran into Jim now at numerous cons and have found him extremely likeable, down to Earth guy.

At any rate I am happy to report that I have some info on when Peace Talks will be coming.  Not immediately by any means but the wait is coming to an end.

Jim first has finished up a book of Dresden Files short stories called Brief Cases that is coming out June 5th of 2018.

Brief Cases sounds pretty cool you can read its Synopsis below.

Synopsis:
The world of Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard, is rife with intrigue–and creatures of all supernatural stripes. And you’ll make their intimate acquaintance as Harry delves into the dark side of truth, justice, and the American way in this must-have short story collection.
From the Wild West to the bleachers at Wrigley Field, humans, zombies, incubi, and even fey royalty appear; ready to blur the line between friend and foe. In the never-before-published ‘Zoo Day,’ Harry treads new ground as a dad, while fan-favorite characters Molly Carpenter, his onetime apprentice, White Council Warden Anastasia Luccio, and even Bigfoot stalk through the pages of more classic tales.
With twelve stories in all, Brief Cases offers both longtime fans and first-time readers tantalizing glimpses into Harry’s funny, gritty, and unforgettable realm, whetting their appetites for more to come from the wizard with a heart of gold.
Now the juicy nugget I have coming from a literary source in the Denver fantasy book world I have heard that.......8-10 weeks after Brief Cases we can expect to see the much desired Peace Talks.  This would put out on shelves around Nov/Dec of 2018.

Personally I think Jim is just a genius marketer because this book is now going to be legendary no matter what he puts out.

If you can't wait that long here is story from Jim about how he got into a bar fight in Houston.
