Poe Dameron is a pilot of the rebel forces. He is shown flying a X-Wing starfighter. His X-Wing has also been shown using the Astro-Mech BB-8. Poe Dameron is played by actor Oscar Isaac in the film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Bio:
Poe Dameron is the son of Shara Bey and Kes Dameron who both served the Rebellion during the Galactic Civil War. Dameron himself later joins the Resistance. He is singled out by Major Caluan Ematt and Leia Organa for having a strong commitment to the Resistance.

The Force Awakens:
30 Years after the battle of Endor, Poe Dameron leads a squad of T-70 / X-Wing fighters using the call sign "Black Leader" against the First Order. In this battle he is using the astromech droid BB-8. Dameron goes on a special mission that takes him to the planet of Jakku where he finds part of a map to the missing Jedi Luke Skywalker. Poe is found and captured during this attempt but he manages to to give the map to BB-8 who escapes from the First Order. While in custody of the First Order a Storm Trooper named Finn decides to defect and frees Poe bringing him to a tie fighter. The pair fight their way out but crash land on the planet of Jakku and are seperated.
After the crash Finn and Poe each find their own way to the Resistance base.
Poe leads the fighter squadrons attack on the Star Killer base.
The Last Jedi:
Poe takes on a special mission for General Leia Organa to battle the First Order and pull together the remaining forces of the Resistance.
Rumors:
Actor Oscar Isaac has commented that Poe Dameron is from the planet Yavin IV where the medal ceremony occurs after the destruction of the Death Star in Star Wars: A New Hope.
In the comic series Star Wars: Journey to Force Awakens: Star Wars: Shattered Empire a variety of characters are introduced in the direct aftermath of Return of the Jedi. Among these characters are Poe Dameron's parents rebel A-Wing pilot Shara Bey and officer Kes Dameron. The two characters marry and settle down to have a family. The pair are shown setting up a home and planting some trees near there new home.
These trees are later revealed to be the trees that grow inside the Jedi Temple of Coruscant. Luke breaks into a Empire facility with Shara Bey to get them. After escaping the facility Shara took the one to plant outside her home. The other one is taken by Luke Skywalker to be used to help create a new Jedi Order.
The Jedi connection begs the question whether Poe Dameron himself may have some Force abilities.
