The horror comic Hack/Slash that has been a popular horror indie comic for years is now rumored to made into a TV series.

The comic features a protagonist, named Cassie who is based on the meme of lone surviving female at the end of a horror movie.  Cassie must deal with a being a survivor of a monster and decides the best way to do this is to begin hunting down the monsters themselves.  She joins forces with a good Monster named Vlad and the two companions set out on a killing spree to become monsters of monsters.

THR has reported that the series is now being eyed for a TV series and is being Exec produced by Adrian Askarieh and Ray Ricord for Relativity Media's tv division.  Skip Woods writer of Swordfish and Hitman is listed as the writer.

Synoposis:
"Hack/Slash centers on Cassie Hack, a woman who symbolizes the cliche of the lone girl who survives at the end of every horror movie. However, the emotionally damaged girl not only survived but has become a killer of killers. Along with a burly protector named Vlad, Hack travels across the country hunting slashers in the vein of Halloween's Michael Myers, Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees and A Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger."
Many  fans of the series have been hoping for a film version of the comic.  However, I think a TV series may really work well for it.  They could easily write up a monster of the week type of show as kind of an edgier version of Buffy.  There are few shows similar to this that have done well including Grimm and Sleepy Hollow.
